Such sad news about Jackie.
He once came to see my band. It was the proudest moment of my life, that I could entertain him (just once) as he entertained me so many times before and since.
Thanks for all the great music Jackie, may you rest in peace.

I am truly saddened by this immense loss to the musical world. Your beautiful music will be with me forever Jackie. You have enhanced my life.

A kiss on the cheek Jackie Leven.

I have just heard the devastating news of Jackie's passing. I sit here in disbelief. Jackie has been a part of my musical history since seeing Doll by Doll play in York in 1979. The dramatic way the band exited stage that night was like being struck by lightening and I have enjoyed Jackie's music and story-telling ever since with a deep sense of loyalty and respect. I was already sad that Jackie cancelled a scheduled gig in York recently. I am stunned that I wont see him again.
All there is left to do is share the music.

I am greatly saddened by this news. There are times when I have to 'have a bit of Jackie' and put on some of his music. The music that speaks to the soul of man.

To see him perform was to marvel that these tender words could come from a solid, giant of a man. I remember his lucky shirt - torn and tattered, knocked about by life, but still beautiful. Perhaps a bit like Jackie.

Remember hanging off some scaffolding at the back of a N London pub seeing Doll by Doll that first time..the first of many times. Then a cancelled Dingwalls gig and a long silence till I found Argyle Cycle in a record shop in Brighton and all his new songs and gigs came into my life. I even won his raffle at the 12 Bar Club -all his CD's -just 5 then and I already had them all.
Need to go look in my clay jug.
RIP and Thanks

How happy i was every time i knew that Jackie was en route to Norway for concerts... a man, of very few, who really lived life as a individual is dead. We all will miss him.
