Montreal recording artist Adam Cohen will release his new album ‘Like A Man’ (COOKCD550) on October 3rd ’11 on the Cooking Vinyl label.  ‘Like A Man’ is Cohen’s fourth album release and sees him abandon the pop rock stylings of his previous releases and embrace his family inheritance with an intimate album of romantic poetic folk-pop that has echoes of his father Leonard’s finest work.  The first single from the album will be the ‘world-class love song’ “What Other Guy”.

With the help and encouragement of long-time friend and producer Patrick Leonard (Madonna, Elton John, Rod Stewart), who played keyboards, Adam embarked on what he now refers to as his proudest artistic achievement.  Recorded with all the musicians (including Bruce Geitch on guitar, Don Was on stand up bass and Jennifer Warnes on backing vocals) together in one room, Adam says, “I’d never worked so fast, so boldly, so excitedly in a studio. I almost feel now as though I’d been hypnotized and charmed into a new way of working that was painless and joyous, where before it had been rather stressful. The result is an album that’s honest and true. I reached a personal target; this album is a benchmark for me.”

Adam also received the kind of praise from a father any son could hope for — “‘What Other Guy’ and ‘Like A Man’ are what my dad refers to as ‘two world-class love songs’,” reports Adam. “It’ s so good hearing that from ones old man, no matter who he is, especially because that’s how I feel about these songs too; I feel like I’m back in business, the family business”.
