The Subways are pleased to announce the release of their self-titled, fourth studio album! The band have also announced a full UK headline tour for March 2015 as part of a huge 42 date European tour, across 16 countries, with even more dates planned to run into the summer 2015 festival season.
The new album is released on YFE Records/ Cooking Vinyl. In what we believed to be a world first, fans who pre-ordered the new album on Pledgemusic or iTunes, gained immediate access to the first 6 tracks (Part 1) in time for their October UK tour. “It meant that we could allow fans to hear new material before we set out on the road. We had a lot of dates planned for October and a huge tour booked for 2015, and so the idea of playing brand new songs and people already knowing the words was really exciting for us!”
The new album is big in sound and energy. A full on rock record with the hooks The Subways have become famous for. The album also marks a new phase for the band. Having previously worked with legendary producers on their first three albums (Stephen Street, Butch Vig and Ian Broudie), lead singer, Billy Lunn has taken on full engineering, production and mixing responsibility for the upcoming album. The album is not over-thought or over produced… just direct and exciting to listen to.
Lead single ‘Taking All The Blame’, released on the same day as the new album, quickly became single of the week on Kerrang! radio and is accompanied by a brand new video, directed by award winning German director Sebastian Stern. Filmed in Munich and Berlin this stylish video uses an innovated technique of projecting the band’s performance onto footage of a couple midst a relationship breakdown, walking the streets of night time Berlin. This creates a stunning visual effect as the textures of the clothes and movements of the protagonists mix and interact with the projections. po.st/TakingAllTheBlameVid
The album artwork has been designed in Budapest by artist Zash Ore who the band personally befriended on their social media sites, after she posted a drawing of the band. The young and extremely talented graphic designer has drawn a stunning comic-strip story, in collaboration with the band, to go alongside the album release.
Billy, Charlotte & Josh reach their 4th album firing on all cylinders. Still only in their twenties they have built a hardcore international following. Massive facebook stats and far reaching touring schedules a testament to how far they have come and the amount of work they have put in over the last 10 years.
